Metallica is one of the groups which are nominated in the “Best Band/Artist” category at the first-ever Inked True Colors Awards. The event will be held at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada on 3rd October . The awards will “celebrate the tattoo culture and lifestyle by honoring the influencers and tastemakers of the tattoo community”, according to a press release, with a concert to follow the awards ceremony. In the end of the nominations will hold a concert. The Inked True Colors Awards will coincide with Mario Barth’s “World’s Biggest Tattoo Convention” as well as Las Vegas Bike Fest 2009.

Two groundbreaking exciting concerts will be performed for 25th Anniversary of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Kerrang! Awards were announced on 3rd August at a gala ceremony in London. Metallica’s “Death Magnetic” won the award for The Best Album.

In support of ninth Metallica’s studio album - Death Magnetic, the band made a World Magnetic Tour which started 2008 and will be ended in 2010. The begging of tour was on August 11, 2008. Three extra concerts were added: August 27 in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. From 11th September to 12th December Metallica will make a big tour named North American Leg II. It will supported by Lamb of God, Gojira, Volbeat and Machine Head. The band will visit and play in more than twenty different cities.

Metallica won his first Grammy Award for best hard rock/heavy metal album with “Black Album”. In awarding drummer Lars Ulrich thanked publicly that group Jethro Tull didn’t issued an album this year as in 1988 Metallica failed to win for album of Jethro Tull.

The key is to choose colors that sharply contrast each other so as to leap off the design. If you’re still set on using dark combinations, like intense blue on black, consider adding an outline to the edge of your letters in white. This technique allows for separation between the colors and will attract your audience’s eye much better.
  2. Choose a shape that fits your design’s intended concept; StickyLife.com has over 100 different custom sticker shapes to choose from.  For example, if you are designing a sign with long rows of text, then opt for a long rectangular sign to accommodate your lettering. Do not attempt to squeeze it all in on a square sign. Doing so will force you to use smaller letters and will result in a lot of wasted space. The same rule of thumb applies if your intended design requires several short rows of text, one on top of the other. In this instance, opt for a sign shaped to fit your lettering.
  3. Do not get carried away with information overload. Give your audience only the details they need and no more. The more you try to squeeze into your design, the more it detracts from the sign’s effectiveness. General rule of thumb: If it needs to be said say it; if not, leave it off.  People in general don’t want to take the time to read, but have stopped to look at your sign for some reason.  In this case less is more!
  4. Don’t fill as much of the sign’s area as possible. This means you shouldn’t get carried away and start adding text or graphics to every square inch of the design. Filling in as much of the space in with your text as you can could lead to busy and hard to read information.  Remember, however, large letters can be read from a farther distance.  Get creative with the space to be designed to help make it as attractive and eye-appealing as possible.  In the end the price of your customizable stickers will be determined by the amount of colors used, the size and shape of your item.
  5. Graphics, colors, borders, shadows, etc., all add their own flavor to your design. Be bold and experiment with a few of these techniques to see what you come up with; you might be pleasantly surprised with the results. We have the ability to create any or all of these enhancements if you wish to incorporate them into your design.  You can’t break the design tool, and playing around with it is the best way to learn about your possibilities.  Remember - the more colors you add the more expensive your item becomes.
  6. Alignment is important in a design’s overall visual appeal. If not, make it obvious that the design was purposely misaligned. If your design’s elements are not in proper alignment, it will show.

I’m a great fan of music. I love watching musicals, as well as attending classical, indie or alternative concerts. Living in London means there are a lot of interesting events throughout the whole year. But there is one major problem in the picture – finding cheap tickets for them.

George “King of Country” Strait will share one stage with his friend Reba McEntire. The latest news is that the opening act for their shows will be the up-and-coming singer Lee Ann Womack. George Strait said that he and Oklahoma superstar Reba McEntire will make the show a really spectacular night and they surely will!

Age of Armor is a free sci fi mmo which has the selling point of mech combat. My first impression of the game (judging by screenshots) was Gundam + MMO = total win + action? Guess not. Complete opposite. You would have more fun playing scrabble than this piece of ….. well you get the picture.

Since I can’t really find anything good to say about this game, I’ll just bash it. It is hard to find anything positive to say about it, but there is a few things that interest me.

Traffic:

Lack of people actually playing the game. I saw 14 people in 4 hrs. It would have to be the most deserted MMO i have ever played. Heck the only reason people play MMO’s is so to interact with other individuals in online gameplay. Heck the background music they use in town is just a recording people talking in a downtown mall (probably to cover up the low server pop and give it a lively feel)

On the bright side, lag is non existant

“Tutorial” or “Story”

The thing that really drives me off is a lack of tutorial for beginners. Well actually they do have a “tutorial” but its 20 seconds long. “Press WASD. Press Tab. Click Mouse. You have a skill bar, use it sonny.” Then they drop you off in some random world, where you fight aliens and robots for some unknown reason. I wish they would give you a story or at least tell you what you are doing at least? From what i can tell your a guy in a 2 story mech beating up drones that are shorter than your waist (bastard tyrant that you are). I know MMO’s usually have a horrible story, but most seem to give some explanation to what is happening.

Lack of “Settings” and Numerous Game Crashes

Thing that bugged me the most about AOA is the customization.  You start off in 1024 x 768 windows mode and if you go check the options for any sort of customization, you get nill (and there is a reason why they do this).

So i go to the directory folder and manually adjust the config so it can run by 1280 x 800 and full screen. First thing when i start the game is that the “hitboxes” still stuck in 1024 x768 mode. I have to randomly click a space to the upper right of each button and npc in order to activate it (shows a very incomplete and rushed game). Not only that, minimizing the game causes it to crash in full screen mode and the slightest pop ups like windows vista update or antivirus definitions will also cause it to crash (anything that will put the game into the background). For **** sake you had 1 year and 8 months to fix a simple problem. It might be a vista only problem since it has no problems crashing on a computer with windows XP installed, but still has the “hitboxes” stuck in 1024 x768 mode.

Gamplay and Quests:

The Gameplay was pretty much point and click. Press once to autoattack and thump the number keys to spam skills. Nothing out of the world. You get guns if you really want to start shooting stuff, but i never bothered. Just smacking stuff with a melee weapon is enough to kill anything. If there is one thing that interested me was the transformations. I think that was the highlight of this game. Even though it was a rip off of transformers, you must admit it was pretty sweet. Its like reliving the transformers tv show, turning into cars and jets. Pretty kick ass.

The quests were absolutely terrible. The first quest i got from joining the server was “find a certain npc”. No location or directions. They just give you a name right when you start off. It took me 6 mins just to find the guy (lack of a GPS system makes it hard for new players). Next quest i got after that was “befriend a level 45 + player”. Well thats pretty impossible if you can’t find players to begin with and is there even anyone level 45 who is still playing this game? (there probably is some extremely hardcore players somewhere)

Conclusion

This game is mediocre. Definitely not the best “mech” + “sci” category game out there.  I must admit mechs + mmo must be a great idea in theory but its a hard combination to pull off (expectations will be too high). A few games can pull it off like Zero Online and Exteel. But its hard to balance mmo elements with “mech” action. When people think about mechs, they thing about fast action and when you think about mmo’s you think click and kill or turn based attacks. Mixing the action and mmo elements is like creating Tabula Rasa. It was a great game in theory but it only lived less than 2 years before crashing and burning into oblivion.

It’s tough for hip-hop stars to age well. Once they become celebrities living in mansions and starring in family movies, street cred is usually the first thing to go. Just ask Ice Cube. Longevity just wasn’t built into the hip-hop lifestyle, with its premium on youthful swagger, street tales and fast turnover.
